About this place
Start the evening with yakitori and a drink, then finish with chilled soba: that’s one way to enjoy the menu at Kameya. The yakitori comes seasoned with salt, house-made sauce or plum and shiso, and each option is sold in portions of 3 skewers. Salt-grilled chicken wings are available in portions of 2, too, making it easy to mix up the flavours and cuts as you snack.
One diner stopped in for a second dinner venue and ordered chilled soba, enjoying its unpretentious zaru-soba style. The menu also lists chilled soba, a good option after yakitori and small plates if you’d like something that won’t feel too heavy. For a more substantial dish, there’s a small seafood gratin. One diner said they particularly liked it, making it worth considering whether you’re having a snack-focused evening or want to add a warm dish to the table.
Kameya is described as suitable for solo dining, and reservations are accepted. It is open from 17 to 23, Monday to Saturday, and accepts cash only.
